Great as a long-lasting and planet-friendly alternative to plastic sandwich bags, cling film or zip lock bags. Just pop in a sandwich, salad, herbs or anything you fancy, fold the end over twice and press with your fingers. The natural heat of your hands will warm the wax and help it to self-seal.
Avoid using with raw meat or fish, as cross-contamination may occur on its next use.
Avoid storing anything super acidic or oily for too long as it will break down the wax and decrease the bag's life.
Suitable for fridge and freezer. Not suitable for microwaves or exposure to hot temperatures.
Made in the UK from GOTS certified organic cotton that’s been infused with a formula of British beeswax wax, responsibly sourced European pine resin and organic jojoba oil. Hand stitched and printed with GOTS certified organic dyes. Comes presented in fully recyclable, FSC certified, recycled packaging that's printed with vegetable based inks.
When cleaning waxed bags, most of the time a quick wipe out with a cold damp cloth will do. However if a more thorough clean is needed, it can be washed in COLD water, using a mild dishwashing soap. Don’t be afraid to give it a good scrub with a sponge or hard brush, then rinse off and hang up to dry.
The 100% organic cotton is hardwearing and with careful use will keep going for around a year. If rewaxed it can last even longer. At the end of its life it can be composted.
If the bag becomes faded and frayed, cut it into strips, twist and use as environmentally friendly firelighters. They are completely waterproof and slow burning, perfect for campfires, BBQs and firesides. Alternatively pop it in with the compost - it's made of all-natural materials that will naturally biodegrade.
The Beeswax Wrap Co. is an independent, female-led company producing handmade beeswax and plant-based wraps from its workshop in the Cotswolds, UK.
Founder Fran started making wraps in her kitchen in early 2017 in a bid to cut as much plastic as possible from everyday life. Over the next two years, the unique wax formulas were perfected through trial and error to create a range of handmade, plastic-free, planet friendly reusable wraps.
From the very outset, Fran and the team have been focused on putting the environment first in all areas of the business. Their mission is to make a small but positive difference in a kind and thoughtful way, both through the products they sell and the way they operate. The materials, community and process behind the products are just as important as the final plastic-free product itself.
The company moved to a new and bigger workshop fitted with solar panels, allowing it to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels. It is also a member of the Surfers Against 250 Club, so not only are you choosing a product that will last, but you are also supporting a company that is making decisions that have a positive impact on our environment and our community.
The Beeswax Wrap Co. is proud to be B Corp certified – part of a network of businesses that balances purpose and profit. It is actively reducing its carbon generation with The Planet Mark - a sustainability certification that verifies and measures carbon and social data to reduce emissions and achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
